My name is Jesse Dean, Human/Living, lyricist, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist. Music has always been the thread running through my life, from the rehearsal rooms of Southern California to stages shared with bands like Testing Tomorrow, The Doc Martins, and briefly, Malaki.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of writing songs that carry both grit and vulnerability, leading Testing Tomorrow through multiple releases (Tribes, 2013) and returning now with new material, including an upcoming EP. I’ve always believed that music is about evolution. Recently, that belief led me to step into new creative territory. Alongside my work with a 90’s cover band in Southern California and the revival of Testing Tomorrow, I’m launching a solo project called Jesse Dean and the Digital Ghosts.
This project is different. It’s not just me in a room with guitars, keys, and notebooks—it’s me in collaboration with something new: my synthetic bandmates, powered by artificial intelligence. I write the lyrics. I compose the music. But the Digital Ghosts shape the production, the textures, and the sonic layers, bringing a futuristic edge to my storytelling. They are both invisible partners and undeniable presences—ghosts of sound and circuitry—that help turn ideas into finished songs.
The Digital Ghosts aren’t here to replace creativity. They exist to expand it, to break boundaries, and to push me into uncharted musical spaces. Together, we’re crafting something that blends the raw emotion of rock songwriting with the limitless possibilities of AI-driven production. This is a new chapter for me, and for anyone listening. A fusion of human heart and digital soul.
A conversation between tradition and technology. A chance to step into the future while staying rooted in everything I’ve always loved about music. Welcome to Jesse Dean and the Digital Ghosts. The band is alive—and we’re just getting started.
